Each December the Smiths remember Christ's birth with an advent calendar. Each day they place a new panel on the outside wall of our home, facing the sidewalk. It is a great reminder for me and helps me to focus on what is most important.
Dec. 1 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about... (Matthew 1.18) I am very excited to be almost finished with my new story, Ruth Annabel Laurel McGinnis, about a resourceful girl who wants to make a delicious dessert but does not want to wash dishes! Next, I will send it to my talented friend Laura Cooper so she can illustrate it. I encourage you to share what you love with your friends and to use your talents together! You will enjoy what you love even more when you share it with people you love.
With a smile, Martina :) If you choose to write, you will sometimes find that it takes trying and trying again to find people to read your story or poem. But don't give up! People are very busy, but that does not mean they won't like your work when they read it. Ask again later if they say they don't have time right now, and in the meantime, look for another reader! My friends do not always have time to read what I have written, but I have found that they read my work when they can. In the meantime, I keep writing! By the way, you can always send what you're working on to me if you're looking for a reader!
Hello, Everyone!
I am so excited to begin this website! I hope you will find a story, riddle, or limerick that brings you a smile. I also hope that you will e-mail me about yourself and what you like to read and write! (My e-mail is [email protected]. Children, make sure you ask your parents for permission first and don't include personal details like your last name and address, just to have safe habits.) God has blessed us with ability to explore and share our experiences with others through books, and I love to experience this blessing everyday. With a smile :) Martina |
